MMus in Instrumental Performance Royal Birmingham Conservatoire 2018–2020 BMus in Instrumental Performance Royal Birmingham Conservatoire 2014–2018
Harvard is my favorite. I used it for both of my degrees!
I studied music at conservatoire, and quite a large part of it involved writing (and proofreading!) essays, program notes, and other documents. Proofreading the work of others as well as myself is something I find very satisfying. Giving close attention to detail and being a perfectionist are traits that are essential to both musicians and proofreaders, so combining the two careers is amazing!
I have a variety of prior proofreading experience.
I love how meticulous proofreading is. Often, it involves working with detailed instructions and having a list of everything to look out for. I particularly enjoy proofreading and editing anything to do with music, art, literature, and philosophy, and I have particular experience with Harvard referencing. Reading is a huge hobby of mine, too, so doing this for a living—and learning new things along the way—is hugely satisfying.

An Equal Music by Vikram Seth is my favorite book.
When I'm not proofreading, I'm playing and teaching music, cooking spicy food, or going for dog walks in the countryside.
I work with checklists so I don't miss anything. I always start by correcting obvious mechanical errors before going back through and checking more carefully.
