Favorite referencing style

My favorite referencing style is APA because it is easy for readers to follow.

Why I became an editor

I am a talented writer and have an excellent grasp of spelling, punctuation, and grammar. My skill has been honed by writing law essays and dissertations, fictional stories, and political documents and speeches. I am a voracious reader with a keen eye for detail. Since people regularly seek me out to check their work, I decided to pursue editing and proofreading as a profession. There is power in words if they’re executed well, and I enjoy helping others produce work they’re proud of.

Background and experience

I undertook law degrees at the University of Warwick and the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice at BPP Law School. I also worked for a human rights organization. I have edited political documents, newsletters, stories from different genres, my own articles, and academic essays. Currently, I am writing and editing my first fantasy novel, and I’ve published a short story, as well as wrote a political candidate’s winner speech.

Why I love proofreading and editing

I am passionate about making people’s writing shine and eliminating mistakes that detract from this goal. It gives me immense pleasure to aid others in conveying their message effectively while preserving their authorial voice.

Daughter of the Blood, the first novel in The Black Jewels dark fantasy series by Anne Bishop is my favorite book.

Hobbies:

When I’m not proofreading, I am usually exploring, immersed in a wonderful book, or writing fiction.

Editing tips:

Edit and proofread when you are feeling alert, read the document once before making edits, read it backward, and take a break before checking the document one last time.
